Warm indoor spaces, chef-prepared meals, and door-to-door transportation from Anchorage make it easy to focus on what you came for: watching the Northern Lights dance over the mountains from your own Alaska resort.

Alaska Northern Lights Experience Worth Remembering
What Our Northern Lights Guests Are Saying
Tucked into the Talkeetna Mountains, our all-inclusive lodge is designed for the kind of Alaska Northern Lights experience you will talk about for years. Spend your days exploring by heated UTV, snowmobile, or glacier hike, then watch the aurora sweep over the ridgelines from the comfort of your aurora-facing room or a quiet spot just outside the lodge. These are the moments – and the views – that guests tell us they never forget. Our guests come to Alaska hoping to see the Northern Lights and leave with stories of far more than just the sky. They talk about the small-group feel, the personal attention from guides, the warm, welcoming lodge, and the thrill of watching the aurora dance over the mountains right outside their room. Here is what recent Northern Lights guests have shared about their stay.
Avery CaudillWe loved staying at Hatcher Pass Castle! It was so cozy, beautiful, and comfortable. Great accommodations, and especially wonderful to have somewhere close to stay after the late night northern lights ATV tour! Highly recommend!! This business is very accomodating and great to work with!
NinaHolderHatcher Pass Castle exceeded our expectations. Out of our 2 week visit to Alaska, Hatcher Pass Castle was our favorite! We wish we had stayed more nights here! It was very peaceful and so beautiful! The room was clean and comfortable and had a noise machine with bird noises on for relaxing.
Eski PoleOur stay at Hatcher Pass Castle was very peaceful and beautiful! Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, and we felt as if we had endless hot water, which we truly appreciated! We especially loved the water, soda, and personal care.
Rebecca WI absolutely loved my stay. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I ended at the Castle by providence. I was struggling to find a place to stay for the first night of a busy holiday weekend. I didn't want to drive 2 hours after getting off of a 6 hour flight.
Kristi LePoreWe absolutely loved our stay at the Hatcher Pass Castle—we didn't want to leave! The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and peaceful; you can even hear the soothing sound of the river across the road.
JJ MiltenbergerPlace was awesome! Off the beaten path really gave it the Alaskan feel! Off the grid added to the charm, but internet worked flawlessly. The sound of nearby river was really relaxing. Room was super cozy and check in was a breeze. Definitely would recommend to others.
Joni OltIf you need a break from the hustle of Wasilla/Anchorage this is a pretty great spot. VERY QUIET! Grab a chair on the balcony and enjoy the mountain views and listen to the river! A unique lodge where the rooms are warm and cozy.
Kathy NechanickyOf our 9 days in Alaska, Hatchers Pass Castle was by far one of our favorite locations! Great communication and thoughtful personal touches. Every staff member was personable. Based on their knowledge, we decided to drive Hatchers Pass.
Lori HackenbergMy husband and I came across Hatcher Pass Castle online. We were looking for a place to stay in the area and we were not disappointed. It was off grid but had all the amenities one might need including Wi-Fi. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
Raquel HedrickBeautiful property, amazing views As soon as we checked in, we had to stay another night. The communication with Ting was super simple, from booking to checking in and answering any questions we had.
Justin EspejoTing and Dans castle was great. The place was very nice and cozy. Views were great from the room and there’s even a chance to see the northern lights from your window. The room was nice and clean, bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend and would defintely go back. Thank you!
Race WilliamsThis place is amazing! I highly recommend staying here especially if you are looking for something off the beaten path. Ting is very friendly and communicates well. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Dennis MeeksDid a snow mobile tour with Noah he made the whole experience amazing. Also stayed 2 nights. beautiful views and the room was amazing thank u ting and Dan for everything.
Prem MukherjeeThe rooms and hospitality here are great. Everything is new and in great condition. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the property didn't match the expectation set by the photos used to advertise it.
John CasertaLoved staying here. Wonderful area way out from everything. Beautiful views. The room was great, clean and comfy, little welcome bag waiting inside. My wife booked this room BEFORE we even knew they offered SxS offroad tours. So that was a huge bonus. 5/5 would recommend.
EECC TravelsWe had SO MUCH FUN on this tour!! Our guide Mike was awesome and he took us off-road riding through creeks, mud and rocks. Not to mention being in the most beautiful location imaginable!! I 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Alaska!!
Abby PlecWe loved Hatcher pass castle and wished we spent more nights here. The room was beautiful and we had the best nights sleep of our trip on the memory foam mattress.
