During the tour, we’ll stop for lunch, soak in the breathtaking scenery, and try our hand at gold panning! Learn about the gold mining history of Hatcher Pass and search for gold, turquoise, quartz, and other fascinating minerals. During blueberry season (August and September), we’ll also stop to pick wild blueberries for you to snack on!
Day 2. Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center & Portage Glacier
Take a scenic drive through Hatcher, stopping at the famous Beluga Point for photos. Then, we’ll tour the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you’ll see packs of wild wolves, grizzly bears, black bears, moose, reindeer, and more! After lunch, we’ll take a short drive to view Portage Glacier. An experienced guide will lead you on a scenic hike to Byron Glacier, where you’ll have a close-up view of the glacier with rugged mountains in all directions. This is a scenic family friendly hike, about 2 miles long.

Day 3. Off-Road to Knik Glacier
Experience an off-road adventure across glacier rivers and black silt “beaches” on the way to Knik Glacier. You'll enjoy close-up views of the Knik Glacier, which stretches over 25 miles long and 5 miles wide—making it one of the largest glaciers in Southcentral Alaska!
Day 4. Freshwater Fishing
Willow Creek is famous for salmon fishing! Our expert guide will take you to a prime local spot where you can fish for salmon, trout, and pike. We’ll also process, pack, and freeze your catch so you can take it home with you.

Day 5. Denali View Tundra Hiking
We’ll use a UTV to bring you to the top of the mountain, where you’ll begin your hike with stunning views of Denali in the background. Enjoy exclusive access to some of Alaska’s most beautiful mountain ridges—hike along the ridge, take in the scenery, and keep an eye out for wildlife!
